The Board of the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) has approved a grant to support the Ohio Artists Tour, the state's first arts tour program. The four-year funding supports Ohio's efforts to position itself as a provider of art in the state by creating a national network of arts and cultural institutions and developing arts education and public relations programs for the arts, humanities and social sciences in Ohio and across the country. In addition to funding artists and arts organizations in Ohio, the grant will provide an additional $1.5 million in state and federal funding for Ohio arts programs and programs in the state. Ohio State University (OSU) and Ohio College of Arts and Sciences (OCAS), as well as the University of Akron (UAB). The Ohio Artist Tour program enables Ohio organizations to harness the creative potential of performing artist ensembles to enrich their local communities, communities of color, and other cultural and educational resources.
Arts Access, which supports ongoing art and cultural activities of all genres that expand the possibilities for the general public to participate in the arts. Statewide Arts Service Organizations are eligible to receive OAC support in an honorable manner through the Ohio Arts Council's annual Arts Access Award. Most awards support emerging organizations in areas that are not served by other art providers. These organizations serve as important partners and support their members and voters in their efforts to empower Ohio communities through art.

The 743 grants awarded in this funding round are the first time the agency has directly funded arts and cultural initiatives in all 88 Ohio counties, which we have been able to do over the past two years. This commitment to state support for the arts is more important than ever after the OAC was allocated a historic $34.5 million in the 2020-21 state budget, "Collins said. Ashland University's Coburn Gallery will host a regional jury exhibition featuring 48 works by members of the Ashlands Community Arts League.
